Developed specifically for the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, ADRIA is a premium PET bottle that redefines the concept of high-end water packaging. Traditionally dominated by glass, this segment demands elegance and a strong visual identity. The proposed solution offers a 'glass-like' aesthetic through advanced technologies applied to PET.
The bottle features a distinctive gradient effect, which is achieved during the preform injection phase thanks to multilayer technology. A selection of r-PET is injected into the inner layer to create this effect. This enables the iconic colouring of the packaging to be achieved without the use of dyes, relying solely on recycled PET. This creates a refined gradient, which is typically achieved through external sleeves, resulting in reduced plastic usage and improved LCA of the product.
Replacing glass with PET addresses several key challenges for the industry, including significantly reducing weight compared to single-use glass. This leads to optimised logistics, lower transport costs, and reduced CO₂ emissions. Furthermore, the risk of breakage is reduced, improving safety throughout the supply chain and in consumer environments without compromising the premium feel or positioning, which is aligned with the expectations of the Ho.Re.Ca. sector.
To achieve the best possible glass-like appearance, a new container base has been designed to mimic the aesthetics of premium glass bottle bases through an interplay of shapes and the refractive index of water. Furthermore, the new base can be customised with logos or decorative lettering.
ADRIA sets a new standard for premium packaging in the Ho.Re.Ca. sector, offering elegance, innovation and sustainability.
